Roof Cowl Installation

These cowls and roof fans are designed for either kerb or purlin box mounting on a flat or inclined roof.

Roof cowl installation.

Never set up a ladder with its feet at different heights. The cowl can be fitted with its longer side running across a slope of less than 85 degrees from the horizontal. The unitex roof cowl system greatly simplifies the roof termination of mechanical ventilation systems. Cowl kits are available in a wide range of sizes from 100mm up to 200mm.

Extract roof cowls are fitted with a protection. The product is available on request with a female connection and or made from stainless steel or aluminium sheet. See below for dimensions and method of mounting. Consisting of an attractive epoxy finished cowl with a lead weather slate and a range of direct connection reducing fittings.

The device is easy to install just make sure you purchase a size that properly fits your flue. Complete roofing to one course below the position for the slate vent. If you are using an inside mount cowl on a tile flue caulk it into place with silicone sealant. Hold vent in position as centrally as possible between the rafters and mark where the vent spigot touches the underlay.

The vhe roof cowl can be used for air intake and ejection in both industrial and residential buildings. Our range of roof cowl kits allow for extraction of air via the roof. The cowl can be fitted without shutters on a 0 60 degree pitched roof with its longer side running down the roof slope. Roof cowls for the extraction supply of air are made of galvanized steel sheet as a standard.

Vhe roof cowl are made of galvanised sheet metal the inlet is protected with steel mesh. If you are using an inside mount cowl on a metal flue do not use the sealant. Have an assistant hold the ladder while you climb it. Step 3 install chimney cowl.

They can be purchased for either a tiled or metal roof and include all the parts you need to install the roof mounted vent easily. It is suitable for connection to spiral duct soil pipe and flexible duct from 125 to 250mm diameter. Roof cowls to suit both vsr esr roof fans. These fittings are for use with smaller service penetrations such as cables and smaller flexible pipes.

Overall chimney cowl installation. The bottom part is a male connector for mounting to the roof base. It is possible for leaves and other debris to collect along the outside screen which will reduce draft inside your chimney. If the fan inlet is less than 2 3m high a suitable guard must be fitted.

Cowl or roofline vents for slate roof. The cowl will normally be fitted to the upstand by a roofing contractor or builder. All have removeable weathering cowls to facilitate ease of use and the ability to add services at a later date all can be used with virtually any roof covering material and are capable of being fitted to existing roofs.
